Re: [sharechat] MMD

Very interesting comments Snoopy - thanks. My concern with an MMD isn't
even the high risk / high reward aspect - I think Gerry has been fairly
upfront that it is a high risk play. It is the *type* of risk that I
struggle to understand. As stated previously, the "Ozestock factor" cannot
be quantified.

I do have an interest in high risk / high reward shares. I tend to prefer a
company that is profitable, taking an "if small profits lead to medium
profits, then big profits (maybe!), without significant dilution or huge
reinvestment of profits required, i'll make money" rather than a "big losses
will equal *massive* profits..soon" company. I don't claim to be anything
bordering on an expert, and find this approach easier than trying to analyse
an MMD ; I'm just not capable of it.

A few of the "high risk / high reward" shares I follow/hold would include
ASX-listed WDP, WAT and SDI. All small companies, all real businesses, all
(I feel) capable of growing strongly, but I would regard all as "risky".
Since you seem to be very much a long termer, I would be very interested to
hear about the sort of companies you look for in the high risk/reward
section of your portfolio. I am guessing there isn't much tech!

Cheers,
Phil

So I stand by my original comments. This is classic high risk/high
return investing. Sure MMD have successfully commercialised some ECG
software, but to suggest that this:

1/ makes the MMD artificial heart a sure winner, and
2/ MMD has the commercial structure to sell this product through the
health system in the USA

is IMHO, drawing a very long bow. This one is for speculative
investment only. SNOOPY
