[sharechat] NZSE market depth

Hi all sharechat readers,
Refer to article below.
What do you think about this bunch of naive, incompetent, indecisive lot
that runs the NZSE?

1) My understanding of the whole issue was that the CEO of NZSE was
reportedly quoted "The market depth is a institutional tool not required by
retail investors". It shows how naive and out of touch they are with market
force. After months (years?) of deliberating,  now that they are finally
convinced there is some validity to make such information available to all
investors, they are still dragging their heels over such a simple issue. I
guess it is going to take them a another few months/years in this " still
considering" phase before we get a final go ahead.

2) My understanding is that one of their roles is to ensure/foster an
informed market. We all know that there is no level playing field by virtual
of their reluctance to make market depth information available, yet they
appear to be indifferent to this fact.

3) By virtual of their indecision, they also do not seem to be able
acknowledge the fact that they are the cause of  unnecessary inefficiency in
our share market. For example, the amount of time being wasted to the investors and
the share brokers alike by having to phone the brokers to seek market depth before
placement of orders;  the number of unsuccessful transactions resulting from
mismatched price/number of shares.

Are they the same people that involved in the hotly debated Montana shares
dealing?

They certainly can learn a lot from their counterparts across the Tasman.

I appreciate this issue has been raised in this forum, but can we
collectively put more pressure on them?
