Hello Mike
i really liked the lesson "don't try to catch a falling knife". i did that
with thl, cah, tel (last effort in november at $5.64) and flb. never
again.

you mention liking the look of aia, cah, skc, flb, pfi, wam, air, tel, and
ffs in 2001. i hold most of these but, as a bundle, they owe me heaps --
eg, airva at -23%, ffs -55%, tel -33%.

they seem like good stocks if they can be bought at current prices. but,
do they seem like equally good stocks to HOLD? i suspect the answer is
"not if you expect a good return during 2001". with non-imputed divs, no
divs, and miserable divs respectively, i'm not too impressed with holding
for years.

i like the 'beat the broker' idea. i'm wondering if i can set up some sort
of a system so that my puppy can have a go too - p'raps if i wrapped a dog
biscuit in each of the broker picks ...
Happy New Year, Jefley
