Judging by TMN's latest announcement, I have to go along with Frank Fernandez's view that Commsoft would have a hard road to match Chris Jones' Telemedia. The price has just surged 40c by the way. TELEMEDIA NETWORKS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED 2000-08-16 ASX-SIGNAL-G +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Telemedia today announced a new strategic alliance that will see it uniting forces on a global scale with US computer hardware giant Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO). Under the agreement, Telemedia has become a Cisco Voice-Application Partner (CVAP), which will enable it to offer customers around the world tailor-made solutions combining Cisco programmble switches with Telemedia software applications. Telemedia's solutions and products will now be sold by Cisco's 13,000-strong worldwide sales force while no other Cisco partner has the geographic presence of Telemedia. Chief executive of Telemedia Networks International Chris Jones said the partnership is the start of a long-term strategic alliance that will deliver significant benefits to both companies. "We're delighted to have signed this partnership agreement with Cisco, which will see Telemedia become Cisco's largest Value-Added Partner in both sales and support. "It is yet another strong endorsement of the quality and application of Telemedia's innovative software and global support infrastructure. "Cisco holds the No.1 or No.2 market share in virtually every market segment in which it participates and there is Cisco equipment in almost every switch-room around the world. "To be aligned with the market leader in end-to-end networking solutions will enable Telemedia to offer winning products and services to our customers and significantly expand our customer base," says Jones. Since becoming a public company in 1990, Cisco's annual revenues have increased from $69 million to $12.2 billion in 1999. Cisco manager of channel operations David Woodward said Telemedia's proven success meant the company was an obvious choice to partner with Cisco. "Telemedia is a perfect fit for Cisco. We were looking for a company that would provide a proven reliable platform, an outstanding track record and 24 hour global sales support and expertise. "Our CVAP certification reflects Telemedia's commitment to providing value-added software and solutions that meet - and exceed - their customers' requirements." Telemedia now has a global installed base of enhanced service solutions with more than 130 installations across 69 telecom service providers in 35 countries, providing worldwide 24 hour live support infrastructure stretching across six continents. Cisco sells its product in approximately 115 countries via the internet and through a direct sales force, distributors, value-added resellers and system integrators. _____________________________________________________________________________ http://geocities.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo!
