Re: [sharechat] Graham's Law
And Vincent, thats just the tip of a melting iceberg...Did you read the
reversal of the new governments promise to arrange the taxation of R&D more
favourably for NZ companies. Now they are just putting it into a "fund".I
cant believe how stupid you would have to be not to realise from economists
the world over that if you have a stagnant Labour and Capital base (ie.low
savings or negative and no/low population growth) The only way to create
further GDP growth is through efficiencies created by
technologies/innovation from our best entrepreneurs and companies who have
support and incentive to do so.They are not asking for handouts..just that
R&D can be expensed fairly. No other OECD country has this kind of policy. Its
about time we started to address these underlying issues that never seem to
get the right attention...Of course until its to late and we lose whole
companies overseas and not just individuals.
Im sorry to be negative..I usually try to see the positive side to most
things but this exodus of talent is just starting to snowball. The speed at
which the globe is starting to converge through information/internet is
starting to show the gaps up.ie..companies are leaving/individuals are
seeing whats on offer more easily.
I can liken this to the amount of interest in investing in the states
now.Its getting easier and easier and if our policies are not
stimulating..they'll keep going.Money that used to be invested in NZ now
going offshore...and where is NZs silicon valley? Nah, dont worry we can
just borrow some more.
Warner.
PS;Instead of "taskforce handout" how about "taskforce technology"!!!!
