November 26th Morning Report

US markets closed higher on Monday, with the small-cap Russell 2000 index hitting an all-time high after Scott Bessent's nomination as US Treasury secretary helped push bond yields lower.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.91%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.25% and  0.22%.

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.36%), the Dax 30 (+0.43%), CAC 40 (+0.03%) and the STOXX (+0.23%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+1.30%), HSI (-0.41%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.11%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.271%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.273%. Oil was up to $66.88 per barrel, down 3.06%. The gold price was at US$2542.60 per ounce, down 3.13%.
