US markets closed lower on Monday, with a rally megacap growth stocks such as Alphabet and Tesla supporting a rebound in technology-heavy Nasdaq while investors also waited for the US Federal Reserve's meeting this week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.37%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.83% and up 1.13% respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.06%), the Dax 30 (-0.02%), CAC 40 (-0.20%) and the STOXX (-0.07%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+2.67%), HSI (+0.10%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.99%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.33%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.734%. Oil was up to $83.00 per barrel, up 2.42%. The gold price was at US$2164.00 per ounce, down 0.12%.
