US markets closed higher on Monday as Megacap growth stocks led by Apple and Tesla lifted the tech-heavy Nasdaq higher, while the Dow and the S&P 500 also eked out slight gains in light pre-holiday trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.13%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.27% and 0.83% respectively.

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.03%), the Dax 30 (+0.30%), CAC 40 (+1.09%) and the STOXX (+0.73%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.12%), HSI (+0.01%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.92%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.462%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.7%. Oil was up to $83.46 per barrel, up 2.36%. The gold price was at US$2341.70 per ounce, up 0.09%.
