U.S. market ended higher on Wednesday after big technology companies showed strong quarterly results.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.59%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.86% and 0.41%, respectively.

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed mixed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.63%), the Dax 30 (-0.04%), CAC 40 (+0.22%) and the STOXX (-0.06%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+1.68%), HSI (+1.07%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.97%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.77%, while the 2 - year note was at 1.156%. Oil was up to $89.53 per barrel, up 0.41%. The gold price was at US$1807.92 per ounce, up 0.40%.
