March 27th Morning Report

US markets closed little changed on Tuesday after a two-day slide, led by some megacap growth stocks, as investors awaited economic data in a holiday-shorthened week to gauge the Federal Reserve's policy path. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.08%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.28% and up 0.42% respectively.

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.17%), the Dax 30 (+0.67%), CAC 40 (+0.40%) and the STOXX (+0.40%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.04%), HSI (+0.88%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.17%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.23%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.587%. Oil was up to $81.48 per barrel, down 0.57%. The gold price was at US$2178.30 per ounce, up 0.09%.
