Thought this may be of interest:
The following is copied from Midland Funds
Management website (publicly available):
' ... Over the past few weeks, the value of the
Fund has moved up and down within a five percent range. Much of this
volatility is due to our largest position, Multiemedia (MUL.ASX), which has had
huge swings of up to ten percent in a single day. Although this stock is
heavy with short-term traders, I anticipate that in the long run holding this
position is the right thing to do, rather than trying to take advantage of the
swings. The reason for this is simple – I am still anticipating large
moves triggered by either several good announcements in quick succession or when
earnings numbers come out that take into account the company’s recent contract
wins and activities. I do not want to have anything less but the largest
position possible when the big move up comes, and because the moves are so quick
it is necessary to stay fully invested. There are many other factors that
could give the stock a boost and I feel it is only a matter of time.
Multiemedia recently announced that it is buying a North American company to
help expand its reach globally and also announced that it will be seeking a
NASDAQ listing, which would theoretically bring a new influx of capital and
investors to the stock. ... '

MUL - A strategy is being executed to bring
the share price down and whilst it is in play, wiser to remain
an observer or, depending on your investment and exit strategy, hold-on
till it turns.

Thanks Chris,
Just to illustrate the point, of looking at notices. COH looked like
a buy to me, everything looked like go, a quick read of the ASX website
showed they had just announced notice of legal problems in the USA,
that were to reduce the bottom line result for this year, it went from a buy
to a hold to a sell, pretty quickly.
ASX Notice 6.09pm today:
Adrian Ballintine, Managing Director &
CEO, held over 30M shares (specifically 31,008,976 shares) and sold 3M
shares.
To put this sale into perspective, he sold
10% of his holding to gain $231k.
10% doesn't concern me.
I would have been quite happy to do the
same.

Chris,
I trade with the ASB and get in depth views of buy and sell
prices, with prospective buyers and sellers on a bid and sell list,
but there is no historical list as you have, I will look arround to see
if I have missed it.
Thanks
Allan.
Most broker websites provide access to
intraday trades as they occur.
This screen + the buyer/seller
screen gives me insight into strategies are at
play.
For example, at 10.19am when the first
seller dropped to .075, it was obviously not necessary - sellers
sitting patiently at .076 had collectively between 200-300K
between them. Hardly a reason to jump over the top and sell down at
.075 - no threat to their sale existed.
Regards,
Cris

This is very interesting, where do you go for this info? I
have had a quick look on the ASX website where I think it should be
but can't find it.
Thanks
Allan.

Thanks for the tip, I will also give it
a go, I will wait however until this ta programme I am
trying to learn to drive gives what I think are buy signals
at present I feel its saying hold off.
Believe me I also look at fundamentals,
which has at times been to my detriment nz WHS being a good
share to illustrate my point, I felt it was sound, [and
still do] but ta screamed to get out, I failed to
listen.
Its a fault I have been working on for
50 years, I will have it sorted
soon.

I'm not up to speed on INL, but I
gave Chris a thought last night as I read the mineing
news, MIC has bust 12 cents, a big increase from the 0.6
price of 10 months ago.
I work from memory, but was it
about october Chris, that you suggested they were worth
a look at?.
If I had listened, I may have time
to look it up in the archives, instead of haveing to
race off to earn a $, from the sweat of my brow, as
opposed to
trading.
I, as always repent in
leasure.
Allan.
Cris,
In light of your recent postings, it was interesting
to see one of the INL directors selling 1000000 shares
at 11.5
Gordon.
