[sharechat] Aussie-US free trade agreement

In a post in April 2003 I was less than enthusiastic about the prospects of a 
meaningful free trade agreement between Aus. and the US.

One of the things I was sceptical about was the prospects for entry of 
Australian cane sugar into the US.

It is comforting to know that some of my predictions come true.

The only consolation to the Australians is that no soldiers in Iraq were 
harmed during negotiations on the agreement.

PS Any Aussie's on this forum should fight the introduction of US Mickey Mouse 
copyright protection laws as set out in the free trade agreement.
