We all have our own methods of buying and selling shares.  It seems some investers have the I am right everyone else is wrong attitude.   The one thing that I am one eyed about is that we should keep our investments in the country supporting the businesses that keep the country on the move.  I couldnt care less who disagrees with my investing strategy it suits me. To my mind Im way out in front of most over 20% pa last three years.  Gold that useless metal that is the latest must buy will create as many losers as it will winners.  Over the last hundred years it has only kept pace with inflation so therefore over the next hundred years it is very inclined to do the same.  The losers will buy in at the top where ever that might be and watch it slide.  I think in the short term retail is my choice a few solid companies to choose from followed by the service companies ports.  lines. power. etc.enough for me to select from.  The poor old farmers and the companies supporting them are in for a hard time.  It takes about six months for the service companies in the rural sector to keep pace with the rise and fall of farm incomes. Buy and sell with the rise and fall of the nz $.   The poor old farmer its always boom or bust he always loses control at the farm gate.  The real winners stand out in the bad times and are easier to spot.  My Idea is observe, improve my methods, listen to my gut feeling and get it into my head that I can predict as good or better than most.  The future can be predicted by looking at the past.  Thats what its all about predicting the future.  The charts that phaedrus produces are a great indication of what may happen however Im glad to see he is humble enough to not predict the future.  Snoopy on the other side of the fence is the Sherlock homes of the forum, He has a large spy glass to go over company records.  Who is right and who is wrong both have there merits.  I have taken from both so thanks guys.  We must always expect the odd clanger a quick exit strategy is a must.  I would like to see some more forecasting in the forum in the future I think some people are scared off by the Im right and your wrong brigade.  The village Idiot can always teach you something if you listen long enough.
