[sharechat] Metastock v Online Charting

Hi everyone

After looking at some online chartng sites I am rethinking my proposed
purchase of Metastock. I would appreciate your comments on the following.

Using Metastock:
1. How long does it take each day to download NZSE / ASX data?
2. How do you update your database to take account of splits, bonus issues
etc? What time committment is involved?
3. Is it possible to filter based on candlestick patterns?
4. Is it possible to backtest the profitability of a system on all listed
stocks and receive summary information eg profits made, time in the market,
number of trades etc?

Online Charting:
1. Does anyone know of a site where you can filter NZSE /ASX stocks based on
candlesticks and other technical criteria.
2. What sites can filter NZSE /ASX stocks based on fundamentals?

In summary, do you think a novice trader such as myself who has developed a
trading plan that involves filtering stocks based on technical criteria
would benefit from purchasing Metastock? (I plan to spend approx 1 hr per
day planning and executing trades).

Look forward to your answers.

Regards,

T100.
