Hi nick, > > >Im not really complaining about the newsletter, it has some >interesting views, was just wondering who the author was > > > The content of the newsletter is not what I was questioning. Evidence is building that this newsletter is being ram fed to addresses that have been harvested of the 'sharechat' website. I regard this a a serious security issue. The fact that the author remains anonymous and only gives a PO Box as an address shows that he cannot be trusted. He has already shown he thinks nothing of stealing our addresses. So if he can make a few more dollars by on selling them, why not? You can almost guarantee that all our addresses are being on sold to other spammers as we speak. Furthermore calling the sender an 'author' is stretching things. He is simply a thief pulling copyrighted material from other sites. And If you look deep enough inside the spam there is also a pump and dump stock scam in there. Thanks to a law passed just last year this is now a criminal act in Australia. I got my first spam from this person on 12th February. Will, did we have any Australians sign up just prior to this date, with a throwaway address? That would be my first line of enquiry in tracing who is responsible. Any chance of chasing this charleton from the 'sharechat' end? If anyone wishes to publish a 'newsletter', the correct protcol would be to place a one line statement on sharechat (for example) pointing out's its availability. Then those who want to read it can do so. Spamming this group is totally unacceptable. The content doesn't come into it.
