I haven't heard of anyone else having problems (and would have expected
to if there were any).  

If you're having recurring problems, it would be best to contact your ISP
and have them check it out - there's no reason that should be happening
AFAIK.

There are a couple of 'control characters' in that mail from redredwine
but they should not cause any problems - if they do, the ISP's mail
systems are at fault and they should be able to fix them.
