Yes, ..... but the facts are this does not help NZ in anyway and it does not change the fact that Air NZ should have never purchased 100% of Ansett. Under the best of circumstances Ansett required between 5 and 10 years and lots of money to turn it into a viable airline and correct years of under investment. Only Singapore Airlines could have done that - but I think they may be relieved today that Air NZ exercised its option.
