But we wouldn't want to miss out on the excellent charts as submitted by Phaedrus now would we?   I think attaching Word Documents is unnecesary, that one had it been relevant could have been copied and pasted.

The virus isn't too serious. Correct me if I am wrong, but i think that you will have got a Enable, Disable Macros dialog box before it opened.  By having choosen "Disable" no damage will have been done.  ( I hope :) )

Will,

I always thought that Attachments were banned long ago.

I think that I discussed this point before, off-line.

I am not sure what is happening to emails going to subscribers, but there could be significant damage to Sharechat if too many people opened attachments with viruses.

They will just stay away, I think. Contributors or readers may open an attachment from the Forum, thinking it is ok as Sharechat would have screened it.

And an attachment may have a new virus for which no protection has been found or nobody has heard of yet!

Alternatively, readers may be half asleep, when opening an attachment!

Unless you have any solid reason to have attachments, why not ban them now?

Gerry
