[sharechat] RE: Letters of Discontent
Hi Dave,
I like the idea you suggest in your email but it's not as easy as writing
to the governing body - the NZSE is the governing body. The Stock
Exchange was founded by an act of parliament and is run by it's members,
ie brokers regulate themselves. There is no Ombudsman for the Stock
Exchange.
If you really want something changed then talk to your broker!
Your broker will be, or at least someone in the office, will be a member
of the NZSE. If all the Sharechat readers & contributors who will use a
wide variety of brokers in NZ could tell their broker exactly what they
want then you would hope it could change something.
Any change such as disseminating market depth information or merging with
the ASX, must be voted on by members. Let them know what you want and see
if you can change anything that way.
Kind regards,
Sarah
