[sharechat] penny dreadfuls
We've had a lot of "serious" shares discussed recently. Just to change tack
for a bit, thought I'd try and stimulate a bit of chat on some of the more
speculative stuff.
I see NGL has bounced back nicely today - 39% in fact. Anybody care to
speculate [no pun intended] why? Any views on prospects now for this one?
And what of ITC? The options have expired. I see a small number were not
taken up even though there was a good differential between the exercise
price and the market price. What do we read into this? Their Solution 6
holding has taken a bit of a hammering but the Exonet sale was, thankfully,
largely for cash. The price has firmed marginally in the past few days. Have
we seen a bottom yet with this one? Any other comments?
What about the much maligned BDO? They also have managed a very good spike
up in the past week. I quizzed MD Bronwen Evans about this.
She said:
"I believe it stems from the AGM when we reiterated our commitment to
separating out Beauty Direct operating expenses and ring fencing the rest of
the money for investment purposes. It clearly indicated we are looking for
strategic partnerships and investment opportunities."
Bronwen did not respond to my further question on whether we should expect
an announcement about "strategic partnerships or investment opportunities"
Disclosure: I hold all the above shares.
Cheers
John
