You'll remember that I said it doesn't work all the time! It was just
an observation that I noticed in a number of stocks. It's not
foolproof!
On a different subject I note that TAS has had a good run of late. See
graph below:
From a low of 70c in late April to a closing high of $1.30
yesterday. 86% in 4 months.
The share repurchase, recovery in the agricultural sector, the
restructuring of the company, the fall in the dollar, a 36% increase in net
profit and strong interest in the sale of the dairy farm portfolio has
all contributed. So far they have achieved sales above book value and the
price still trades at a discount to NTA of $1.53.
On a separate note, I see that Howard Paterson was the founding
shareholder of Tasman Agriculture and a director. He is also one of the
directors of A2, the company with patent rights to A2 milk. Before the
sale of the farms it would have been a nice tie up for TasAg to become one
of the first producers of A2 milk.
