I don't believe NZ'ers are naturally pessimistic. I think it has grown on us. I often talk with a Canadian who has been resident in NZ on and off for 20 years, and he believes there has been a marked change in attitude ever since the introduction of Rogernomics.

Does anyone remember the programme "Success"? It covered stories of successful entrepreneurs. Its not on anymore but I trust its not an indication of the lack of successful small businesses! I've always found positive stories to be inspiring (still clinging to the hope of my IPO!) Please excuse the non sequitur.
