[sharechat] Investing AUS v NZ

Is it really so much better investing in Australia ?

As food for thought, and no doubt debate, it is interesting to compare the trend of the two markets over the past 6 months. This can be done by going to www.stuff.co.nz - business section then Trends (rt.hand side) and set it up to compare AUS ords with NZ Top 40.... for 6 months.

I think the result is quite surprising. The first 3 months show AUS the clear winner with AUS going up and NZ going down. But from April onwards the graphs are pretty well in step showing an upward trend.

So with all our gloom and doom maybe AUS isn't quite a Utopia. Also they now have GST to absorb which could have a dampening effect.
