[sharechat] AIA

Good comments Frank. I have just been looking at the
AIA website and looking at the principal shareholders
list, if Auckland City Council were to sell its 25.75%
holding as widely expected, it will most inevitably be
followed by Manukau City Council (9.64%) and the
Franklin District Council (1.17%) whose shares I
imagine would also be bought up by Changi. This would
leave Changi with a 43.7% majority stakeholding in
AIA, substantial enough but if it required a "true"
majority of at least 51%, it will need to buy up
another 7.3% of other shares. Maybe that would put a
premium on shares held in public hands or other
principal stakeholders' shares? I hope so.

Disclosure: AIA shareholder from the days it was first
floated.

p.s.What about the other stock???
