The big issue yet to be disclosed is where the $150 million will come from, although Robertson has raised the possibility of publicly floating half the company.
The company has applied to the Department of Conservation for an operating concession because about two thirds of the route is over conservation land, and it may take another year for resource consents to be obtained.
But, like Skyline Enterprise's rival gondola proposal, the monorail plan will require several different travel stages.
