Sky Network Television Limited (SKT) has agreed terms with Spark New Zealand Limited (SPK) to enable Spark to offer Sky Sport Now in a bundle with Spark Sport from 16 November 2020. The initial agreement is for up to six months. Terms of the agreement are commercial and confidential.
Sky’s ambition is to have Sky’s sport and entertainment content in the hands of every New Zealander, in ways that work for them. That means delivering Sky’s great content via satellite (to Sky’s significant satellite base), streaming on Sky Sport Now, Neon and Sky Go, and free-to-air on Prime. Partnering with Spark to deliver a streaming sports bundle over the 2020/21 summer is one more way for Sky to achieve its goals.
Sky Chief Executive Martin Stewart says: “Entering into partnerships that will help us achieve our goals is a key part of Sky’s strategy. We are open to working with partners who can help us put Sky in the hands of every New Zealander, as is evidenced by our long term partnership with Vodafone, and our partnership with TVNZ to deliver the Tokyo Olympics to New Zealanders.”
“This sport streaming partnership with Spark builds on the success of the Neon wholesale arrangement, through which we deliver Sky’s entertainment streaming service to Spark customers.”
The streaming sports bundle will offer Sky Sport Now and Spark Sport to eligible Spark customers, and the arrangement is in place for up to six months. Details of the offer, including pricing and other terms, will be announced by Spark.
