U.S. stock markets ended lower ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting expected this week, while Apple is closed on $3 trillion market capitalization. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower with -0.69%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite down 0.59% and 0.90%, respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed lower as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.83%), the Dax 30 (-0.01%), CAC 40 (-0.70%) and the STOXX (-0.38%). In Asia, the Hang Seng was down and Shanghai indices was up . The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.71%), HSI (-0.17%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.40%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.43%, while the 2 - year note was at 0.642%. Oil was down to $74.45 per barrel, down 0.93%. The gold price was at US$1787.97 per ounce, up 0.27%.
