Manufacturing sales in the quarter to December rose 3.8% rise to $15.342 billion - an increase of $557 million compared with the December quarter the previous year.
Eight of the ten industries surveyed recorded increased sales with meat and dairy manufactured products accounting for over half the increase, rising 8.5% or $287 million.
Machinery and equipment manufactured products was next highest, up $159 million or 8.4 %.
The two industries to record a decrease in seasonally adjusted sales in the quarter were wood and paper product manufacturing, down $110 million or 6.1%, and textile, clothing, footwear, and leather manufacturing, down $31 million or 4.4%.
