U.S. stock markets ended lower on Tuesday, with a number of Big Techs leading the slide. The data shows that producer prices and whosale inflation are getting hotter than expected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower with -0.32%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite down 0.93% and 1.49%, respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed lower as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.18%), the Dax 30 (-1.08%), CAC 40 (-0.69%) and the STOXX (-0.92%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices were both down. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.73%), HSI (-1.33%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.53%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.44%, while the 2 - year note was at 0.659%. Oil was down to $73.48 per barrel, down 1.22%. The gold price was at US$1772.24 per ounce, down 0.77%.
