Affco chairman, Sam Lewis, says the business has been sold to a group led by Mathias Meats management and private investors. No price has been disclosed.
Mathias Meats general manager, Roger Goulding, will continue to head the business, which includes Mathias International, an international meat trader and marketer.
Mathias International markets meat in over 60 countries throughout the world, handling fresh and frozen lamb, mutton, beef and other red meats including venison and goat.
The company is based in Auckland but runs a number of international sales offices including the UK, Argentina, Australia and Singapore.
