Dr Roland Williams has advised the Origin Energy Board that he intends to retire as independent non-executive director from the board.
Williams was appointed in February 2000 upon the formation of Origin.
Origin Energy chairman Kevin McCann says Williams has made an invaluable contribution to Origin as a director providing dedicated leadership as chairman of the Health, Safety and Environment Committee and past chairman of the Audit Committee.
"Roland's extensive industry experience and commercial expertise has contributed great value to robust decision-making by the Board and the growth and success of the Origin group over the past 10 years," he says.
McCann says the company will make arrangements to formally acknowledge Dr Williams' contribution to Origin in the coming weeks and at the Annual General Meeting on 29 October when his retirement will be effective.
"However, we wish to take this opportunity to thank Roland for his input and wish him well in his retirement."
