Telecom's Australian business AAPT is to be headed by David Yuile, now AAPT general manager of network and technology.

Yuile is to take up the job of AAPT chief executive from July 1, replacing Paul Broad who is finishing a fixed term contract.

Telecom chief executive Paul Reynolds said Broad had successfully transformed AAPT from a predominant reseller, to a leading on-net data, internet and IP voice provider.

His replacement, Yuile, had considerable experience and knowledge of the Australian telecommunications industry and the AAPT business, Reynolds said.

Yuile understood the challenges of sustaining business growth in a complex and changing environment.
