PGG makes presence felt

PGG has announced that the current name of the company, Pyne Gould Guinness Reid Farmers Limited, is to drop the Reid Farmers connection from its title.

From now on the company will be known by the corporate title of Pyne Gould Guinness while the brand name will be PGG.

"We formed a clear view that the company needed to operate all its businesses under one brand. Our evaluation of the alternatives available led us to the conclusion that the PGG brand best fits all areas of our operations" says chairman Bill Baylis.

"It follows from this decision, that the company name should be changed to reflect that decision."

PGG was previously the rural trading arm of Christchurch's Pyne Gould Corporation before it merged with Reid Farmers in September.

Pyne Gould Corporation remains the major shareholder of the expanded company with a holding of around 69%. It moved quickly at the outset to install George Gould as the CEO of the company, replacing former Reid Farmers boss Brian Bilas.

The head office of the merged company currently remains in Dunedin.
