New Zealand health and wellness product manufacturer New Image Group has appointed NH Chua, its Vice President Asia Pacific, to the board as an executive director.
New Image chairman Graeme Clegg says Malaysia-based Chua has worked side-by-side with him for nearly 24 of the company's 26 years to drive the group's development through direct selling channels in Asia. He says he is delighted that Chua has accepted the offer to join the board.
"Business prospects are very strong in the Asia region and having Chua as a director will mean he is able to contribute directly at board level toward the development and implementation of the strategies to take full advantage of those prospects," Clegg says.
Chua, who has a BA in economics and commerce from the University of Toronto, has more than 33 years of experience in the direct selling industry. Fluent in several languages, Chua is highly regarded for his ability to develop leadership and establish infrastructure for New Image in new country markets. He was recently invited to present at the Australian Direct Selling Association's annual conference on the Gold Coast.
The demand for New Image's health and wellness products in Malaysia saw the company establish a new 850sq m regional head office in Kuala Lumpur in July last year. The company has also been investigating the feasibility of floating the Malaysia arm of New Image on the Malaysian stock exchange, to give the opportunity for the company's distributors to invest directly in the business there.
