February 14th Morning Report

US market closed higher on Monday investors awaited inflation data likely to hint at the path of the Federal Reserve's future interest rate hikes, while Meta Platforms gained after a report said the Facebook parent was planning fresh layoffs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.95%. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.96% and 1.28% respectively.

In Europe key markets ended higher. The FTSE100 was up 0.83% , while the DAX30 was up 0.58% and the CAC40 was up 1.11%, the STOXX600 was up 1.03%. 

 Asian markets ended mixed. The Shanghai Composite (-0.30%) and the Hong Kong Hang Seng (-0.12%) were down, while Nikkei 225 (-0.88%) were up.
