NZX head of market supervision Elaine Campbell has today announced her resignation from NZX after nearly six years.

She will remain involved with NZX through directorships of some NZX investments, and on a project-related basis.

"My tenure as head of market supervision can perhaps be characterised as one of building the capacity of NZX as the front line regulator of its markets, and bringing to our performance of that role public accountability by ensuring transparency in our decision making," said Campbell.

Lawyer Simon McArley is to step into Campbell's role until the end of 2008, when a final decision will be made on a permanent replacement.

Chairman Simon Allen also announced today that this would be his final term on the NZX Board.
