Sam Knowles, the businessmen who headed Kiwibank for 10 years, is joining the board of accounting software company Xero.
Knowles had followed Xero closely and had become a shareholder when the company held its initial public offer in 2007, the company said.
Knowles replaces Guy Haddleton, who has served as a director since March 2007 and was part of the team to lead the company through the sharemarket listing process. He has spread his time between New Zealand and the United States where he is now focused on the launch of a new business, Anaplan Inc.
The change is effective from today.
