TVNZ has lost the two experienced producers responsible for Breakfast and NZI Business after it asked them to re-apply for just one job.
NZI Business producer Brett Cammell (pictured) has been with TVNZ for 40 years and Breakfast producer Tony Davenport has been around for eight. It is understood both resigned this week.
Davenport says he has resigned due to personal circumstances after informing TVNZ management several weeks ago that he was planning a move anyway and it is believed Cammell has also taken voluntary redundancy.
A spokesperson for TVNZ says it is now undergoing a closed recruitment process for the combined position.
This followed an announcement in July that 15 people stood to lose their jobs at TVNZ to save the company an estimated $3 million a year.
