US markets closed higher on Wednesday after three days of selling, as oil prices pulled back from the peaks while investors digested the news of Russian oil imports bans.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 2.13%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 2.67% and 3.53%, respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+3.25%), the Dax 30 (+7.92%), CAC 40 (+7.13%) and the STOXX (+7.44%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended lower. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.30%), HSI (-0.67%) and the Shanghai Composite (-1.13%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.944%, while the 2 - year note was at 1.674%. Oil was up to $112.2 per barrel, down 12.37%. The gold price was at US$1988.24 per ounce, down -3.14%.
