Former Fisher Funds chief investment officer Warren Couillault is setting up a company called Richmond Investment Management GP Ltd in partnership with the Spencer Family Group.

Richmond is offering fund management products that invest in global hedge funds with a minimum investment of $25,000.

"Richmond is offering investors a truly unique opportunity to invest with what we believe are some of the best funds managers in the world. These managers are usually only accessible to super high net worth or institutional investors," he said.

Couillault, who left Fisher Funds in 2008, is chief executive of the Richmond venture.

The Spencer family is one of the wealthiest families in New Zealand.
