SOE said in a statement today that the 70 Visique stores would install a version of its Exact dental software to manage their client and clinical network.
National operations manager of Visique, Troy Fisher, said his company had looked globally for optometry software, but found nothing suitable.
As a result, Visique formed a relationship with SOE and another New Zealand-based company, e:// volution E-Business, which will be the service provider for Visique's new intranet-based VisBiz system.
Visique is a subsidiary of Optical Holdings Ltd, launched in April last year.
"With ownership of optometry potentially being deregulated, our members need to be focused on delivering the highest standards of patient care and service possible, and great software is the key to that," Mr Fisher said.
Mr Fisher said Visique already had strategic alliances with partners in Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States. As a result, the integrated business model developed in New Zealand could be introduced into other markets, once it was proven.
