It said gross margins for the third quarter were again ahead of the same quarter last year.
Sales through the 28 Briscoes Homeware stores increased by 21.7 percent to $42.6 million, while those through the 12 Rebel Sport stores rose 16.6 percent to $21.6 million.
During the quarter Rebel Sport's floor area increased from 20,610 sq m to 23,111 sq m with the opening of a new store in Invercargill.
On a same-store basis, Rebel Sport achieved double-digit sales growth.
Total floor area for Briscoes Homeware was unchanged during this third quarter.
The company said it planned further store openings for Rebel Sport in Nelson, Lower Hutt and Hastings, and for Briscoes Homeware in Lower Hutt, during the next financial year.
The latest figures take unaudited group sales for the nine months to October 31 to $192.3 million -- an increase of 16.1 percent over the $165.7 million reported in the first nine months of last year.
Briscoes Homeware increased sales 18.1 percent during this period, and Rebel Sport 11.5 percent.
