Former Auckland Airport chief executive Don Huse has joined the board of Cavalier as an independent non-executive director.
Huse has had considerable experience in industry, and was the CEO of AIA for five years from 2003 to 2008 and Wellington International Airport for seven years from 1991 to 1998. He was also chief financial officer of Sydney Airport Corporation from 1998 to 2003.
Prior to that, he held chief executive and senior financial management roles in the Cable Price Downer and Steel and Tube groups.
He has also worked in chartered accounting and financial services in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom.
In 1990, Huse was a government appointee to the Hutt Valley Energy Board. He subsequently became an independent director of TransAlta, a listed electricity generating and energy retailing company, where he also chaired the board's audit and risk committee, before retiring as a director in 1999 on relocating to Sydney.
