Yesterday, the S&P 500 and the Dow were marginally lower, after the S&P 500 hit a record closing high on Friday. Recent data has indicated that the U.S. economy is regaining momentum, but not overheating, reducing worries about inflation resulting in the S&P 500 reaching its recent all - time high. The technology driven Nasdaq also rose for the sixth time in the past seven sessions.
Investors await later this week for clues from the Federal Reserve about the outlook on inflation and the future of the Central Bank’s bond purchases. However, most observers don't expect a decision before August, when the Central Bank's annual Jackson Hole, Wyoming, conference occurs.
