US markets closed mxied on Wednesday after minutes from the Federal Reserve's March policy meeting revealed concern among several members of the Federal Open Markets Committee (FOMC) regarding the regional bank liquidity crisis. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.11%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.41% and down 0.85% respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.50%), the Dax 30 (+0.31%), CAC 40 (+0.09%) and the STOXX (+0.02%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.57%), HSI (-0.86%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.41%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 3.40%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.968%. Oil was up to $83.26 per barrel, up 2.12%. The gold price was at US$2029.40 per ounce, up 0.52%.
