25th March 2022 Morning Report

US markets closed higher on Thursday as investors watched the meeting of Western leaders on the Russia-Ukraine war. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.89%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 1.20% and 1.61%, respectively. 

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.09%), the Dax 30 (-0.07%), CAC 40 (-0.39%) and the STOXX (-0.15%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.25%), HSI (-0.94%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.63%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 2.364%, while the 2 - year note was at 2.128%. Oil was up to $118.1 per barrel, down 2.91%. The gold price was at US$1962.05 per ounce, up 0.81%.
