The company has been operating in Auckland for over a year and will begin delivering in Wellington this week.
National Mail's CEO, Antony Fowler, says the company will be delivering to businesses and households in the the greater Wellington region.
He says the expansion to Wellington represents a major step in the company's goal of establishing nationwide coverage within two years, and there are also plans to
broaden it services.
"In the near future, we will be offering an even wider array of services, integrating traditional mail services with modern electronic communications media."
National Mail announced a half year loss to the end of March this year of $2.6 million.
Its shares, which were issued at $1.25, traded on Friday up 15 cents at $1.00.
