Certified Organics managing director Earl Stevens said in a statement today the company would continue manufacturing Organic Interceptor, which is made from pine extracts, in New Zealand.
The countries covered by the agreement with a Singapore-based distributor are Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, India, Korea, China, Thailand and the Philippines.
Dr Stevens said Certified Organics was also working with two Japanese companies which were considering distributing its product.
"The regulatory consents, scientific trials and organic certification we have received in New Zealand and Australia ... opens the way for Organic Interceptor to be sold immediately in several of these markets," he said.
As a result, the company can begin to set up the distribution network through the company Pacific Agriscience in Singapore.
"The memorandum of understanding (with Pacific Agriscience) represents great potential for the distribution of Organic Interceptor and other forthcoming Certified Organics products to a potentially vast market," he said.
In June Certified Organics announced it had received shareholder approval to raise up to $6 million through the private placement of one billion shares to fund its offshore expansion.
Certified Organics, which made its debut on the New Zealand stockmarket last year through a backdoor listing involving Aquaria 21, is also developing a range of other products including fungicides and cleaners from pine extracts.
