New Zealand's largest energy retailer, TransAlta, will be giving most of its debt collection work to listed collectibles company RMG.

The two companies have entered into an agreement for RMG to receive a minimum of 70% of TransAlta's collection business.

TransAlta, which has over 500,000 energy users and $33.3 million in net earnings, says RMG received the contract after performing significantly better than its competitors in a trial held earlier this year.

RMG is a dominant player in the Australia with around a 25% share of the collection market.
