U.S. market ended lower on Friday as bond prices surged as investors sought for risk aversion assets.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 1.30%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 1.89% and 2.72%, respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed lower as follows: the FTSE100 (-1.20%), the Dax 30 (-1.94%), CAC 40 (-1.75%) and the STOXX (-1.63%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.90%), HSI (+0.05%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.91%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.76, while the 2 - year note was at 1.016%. Oil was down to $87.89 per barrel, down 0.55%. The gold price was at US$1834.58 per ounce, down 0.24%.
